You know the feeling. It’s three in the morning, you’re standing in a filthy stairwell of some housing block, a dead radio in one hand, a bag in the other that weighs more than your will to live, and in your head you’re trying to dig up the exact dose for a 10-kilo child in a seizure. In that moment, you don’t need a 500-page textbook full of padding — you need a clear, concise, verified fact.
Welcome to zachranarjecool.eu.
Why did I start this?
Let’s be honest: the Slovak and Czech digital space for paramedics is sometimes like an old ambulance well past its service life. Either the information is scattered across ten PDFs from “who-knows-when,” or it’s so sterile that even the germs on the ER floor get bored reading it.
I was missing a space where professional rigor actually meets the reality of the street. Where we don’t play at being movie heroes, but instead work out how to genuinely manage a patient in a 1.5-meter bathroom without throwing out your back.
What you’ll find here (and what you won’t)
This site isn’t for theorists who’ve only seen a patient in a video. It’s for you — the ones who smell burnt rubber and cheap wine every other day.
- No padding: If I write about pharmacology, it’s about how to actually draw it up without messing it up when your hands are shaking from the adrenaline.
- Uncensored case studies: We’ll dissect the screw-ups. Because we laugh at the wins, but we learn from the mistakes. (Names and locations get changed faster than gloves after an infectious case, of course.)
- Standards that actually make sense: We’ll translate those dense European guidelines into plain “paramedic-speak.”
Paramedic life is cool (even when it doesn’t look like it)
The name of this site is maybe a little provocative. We all know that the moment you’re scrubbing an ambulance of bodily fluids of unknown origin, “cool” is not the word that comes to mind. But the truth is, we do a job that most people don’t have the stomach or the nerve for. And that deserves a proper platform.
I want this site to be your external hard drive. A place you click when you’re not sure, when you want to keep learning, or when you just need to know you’re not alone in this madhouse.
So, buckle up, lights on, let’s go.
“Because in our profession, the difference between ‘I know’ and ‘I think’ is exactly one complaint filed with the oversight board… or one botched funeral.”
